About Zeilen

Ukraine is sinking into darkness and cold. We’re collecting funds to deliver as many generators as possible to critical places in Ukraine.

We draw on our expertise in getting ambulances to priority locations in Ukraine to deliver the access to power.

Why Zeilen: we walk the walk

Stitching Zeilen Van Vrijheid is a volunteer-run non-profit organisation registered in the Netherlands. Since March 2022, we have delivered 128 ambulances, 37 support vehicles, and 256 tonnes of medical aid.

Our tight logistics and robust partnership network within Ukraine allow us to deliver aid to places where it makes the most impact. We now want to use our expertise and existing processes and deliver as many generators as possible to Ukraine.

How generators save lives

Following russia’s calculated and targeted attacks on Ukraine's civilian infrastructure, entire regions are left without power, heat, water and communications against the backdrop of winter snow.

Generators are easy to set up and operate. They help doctors, nurses, civic professionals, and volunteer organisations continue doing their work.

Case studies

By delivering generators, we empower organizations in Ukraine to continue saving lives

Artek: helping children orphaned and displaced by war

Request: Artek is a legendary children’s camp in the Kyiv region which shifted focus to housing and rehabilitating children affected by the war. Artek was experiencing power outages for 12+ hours per day which meant no heating, no cooking facilities. This threatened Artek’s operations.

Zeilen contribution: we delivered three 10 kVa generators to Artek

Time between request and delivery was <3 weeks

Provided the organization with a reliable source of power.

Odesa regional psychiatric hospital: supporting some of the most vulnerable patients

Request: Due to disruptions to Ukraine’s infrastructure and ongoing power cuts, a psychiatric hospital #2 in Odesa region was unable to carry out its most basic functions, like performing routine blood and urine tests.

Zeilen contribution: we purchased and delivered two 10 kVa generators

Time between request and delivery was <3 weeks

Provided additional humanitarian aid to allow this hospital to better its vulnerable patients.

Kyiv City Clinical Hospital #9: making sure surgeries can take place.

Request: this hospital in Kyiv has a powerful generator. However, it takes 23 minutes for it to start supplying power in the event of a power cut.

Zeilen contribution: we supplied the hospital’s surgical department with an Ecoflow portable power station which will allow surgeons to finish operating in the event of a power cut.

Delivered upon request in 10 days

By bringing a failsafe power source fast we removed any potential critical delays during surgeries and addressed the matter of life and death.
